Project PINK BLUE is changing the way Africans think about cancer.
Project PINK BLUE has the capacity, network, experience, staff, volunteers, research team, and integrity to conduct diverse studies and implement national and international interventions. Since 2014, Project PINK BLUE has implemented over 50 funded projects, and many of those projects have strong research components.
For instance:
- In 2015, through a $57,000 grant from the Union for International Cancer (UICC), Project PINK BLUE trained oncology nurses (https://www.uicc.org/case-studies/establishing-navigation-and-palliative-care-services-metastatic-breast-cancer-patients ) and nurses (https://link.springer.com/content/pdf/10.1007/s13187-020-01935-7.pdf ).
- In 2017, with funding from the ACT Foundation, Project PINK BLUE implemented the largest prostate cancer research by a nonprofit. We conducted a national prostate study and followed the patients for six months. The results were published in the Lancet Oncology (https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lanonc/article/PIIS1470-2045(19)30625-4/fulltext ).
- In 2018, through the funding support of the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Specialist Program, Project PINK BLUE implemented Upgrade Oncology for clinical oncologists. See the publication (https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s13187-021-02130-y ) from the project.
